The Tradeskill Depot

The Tradeskill Depot is an account-wide storage system for tradeskill materials introduced with the Night of Shadows expansion (2022). Think of it as a cross between the Dragon's Hoard and the Shared Bank, but purpose-built for crafting components. It holds massive stacks, works across all characters on a server, and — critically — feeds directly into your crafting window without needing to withdraw items first.

If you do any amount of tradeskilling, this is one of the best quality-of-life features in the game.

How to Get Access

Access to the Tradeskill Depot was bundled with the Night of Shadows expansion purchase. The number of slots depended on the edition:

Slots can be expanded up to 5,000 via additional Marketplace purchases.

What Can Go In

The Depot accepts stackable, tradeskill-flagged items. That covers the vast majority of crafting components — ores, pelts, spices, gems, loams, and so on.

Items that cannot be stored:

• Non-stackable items (tools, most finished products)
• Tradeskill containers
• Temporary items
• Attunable, Lore, No Trade, or Heirloom items
• Items flagged as "No Storage"

Each item type occupies one slot and stacks up to 99,999 per slot. That's one stack per item type — you can't split an item across multiple slots.

Using the Depot

Deposits and Withdrawals

You can only deposit and withdraw items at a banker NPC. Open the Depot window at any banker in the game.

Crafting Directly from the Depot

This is the real power feature. In the tradeskill window, check the "Personal Depot" option. When enabled, recipes will automatically pull components from your Depot without you needing to withdraw them to inventory first.

Limitations

• Experimentation mode does not work with Depot items. If you're using experimentation, you need the materials in your inventory.
• Deposits/withdrawals require a banker. You can consume items from anywhere via crafting, but managing the Depot's contents requires visiting a bank.

Account-Wide Sharing

The Depot is shared across all characters on the same server. Deposit materials on your main, craft on your alt. This is especially useful if you spread tradeskills across multiple characters — your Baking alt can access the same ore stacks your Smithing main deposited.

Tips

• Dump everything in. Anytime you're at a banker, toss all your tradeskill components into the Depot. Stacks to 99,999 means you'll never run out of space for a given material.
• Great for expansion launches. When new recipes drop, stockpile components in the Depot ahead of time. All your characters can access them on day one.
• Check slot count if buying late. If you're purchasing Depot access after the fact through the Marketplace, verify how many slots you're getting — it may differ from the original expansion bundle.
