Learn Brewing
Brewing covers everything liquid — alcohol, non-alcoholic drinks, stat beverages, and components used in other tradeskills and quests. It's open to all classes, relatively cheap to level, and produces useful consumables at every skill tier.
Overview
The tradeskill started as a way to make booze (and EverQuest has an impressive catalog of fictional alcohol) but expanded over the years to include stat-bearing drinks that parallel Baking's stat food. Some brewed items also serve as components for other tradeskills or quest turn-ins.
With only 388 eligible recipes for the 301–350 grind, Brewing has one of the smaller recipe pools — making it a less painful path to mastery than tradeskills like Jewelcraft or Fletching.
Containers & Equipment
Brewing uses a single container type: the brew barrel.
| Container | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Brew Barrel | Stationary | Found in cities and taverns |
| Brewing Barrel | Stationary | Alternate name, same function |
| Portable Brewbarrel | Portable | For field brewing |
| Brewing Barrel (Placeable) | Placeable | For your house/guild hall |
| Guild Brewing Barrel (Placeable) | Placeable | Guild hall version |
| Tanaan Brew Barrel | Stationary | Abysmal Sea |

Key Recipes
Brewing recipes are generally cheap — most ingredients come from vendors or are easily foraged. Focus areas by tier:
- Low tier (1–54): Simple ales and beers using vendor-bought hops, barley, malt, and water
- Mid tier (55–200): Specialty brews, flavored wines, and the first stat drinks
- High tier (200–300): Expansion-specific stat beverages with meaningful combat buffs
- Mastery (301–350): Recipe discovery across the full catalog
The Quick Trivial List provides the optimal recipe at each skill point. Brewing is cheap enough that you can often just batch-produce a single recipe per tier without worrying about material costs.
