Learn Alchemy
Alchemy is the art of brewing potions — haste, damage shields, heals-over-time, stat buffs, and more. It's one of three class-restricted tradeskills in EverQuest and the only one tied to a specific class rather than a race.
Overview
Alchemists combine reagents in medicine bags and at alchemy tables to produce potions that replicate (or supplement) spell effects. The potions are usable by any class, making them valuable trade goods — melee classes in particular rely on alchemist-made haste and damage shield potions.
The tradeskill scales from simple low-level potions up through Essence Tinctures and expansion-specific formulas at the high end.
Containers & Equipment
You need two types of containers: a portable medicine bag for field work and a stationary alchemy table for certain recipes.
Portable Containers
| Container | Notes |
|---|---|
| Medicine Bag | Basic starter bag |
| Folded Medicine Bag | Compact variant |
| Reinforced Medicine Bag | Recommended — more durable |
| Folded Reinforced Medicine Bag | Best portable option |
Stationary Containers
| Container | Notes |
|---|---|
| Alchemy Table | Found in cities near tradeskill areas |
| Alchemy Table (Placeable) | For your house/guild hall |
| Guild Alchemy Table (Placeable) | Guild hall version |

- Resist potions — fire, cold, magic, poison, disease resistance
- Utility potions — invisibility, levitation, shrink, and more
